Thank you to everyone attending our Vintage Speed Trials event at Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire.
We hope that you have very enjoyable and memorable day.
The entry fee includes admission to the Castle.
Visitor gates open at 8am.
We encourage you to dress in 1930’s style clothing to help to create the ambience of the time and very much look forward to seeing you at the event.

Terms and Conditions
The rules and conditions detailed here are a combination of the Grimsthorpe Castle conditions of entry to the grounds and requirements for authorisation of this off-road event and health and safety law.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a full paying adult. Each child ticket will have the identical status to that of the ticket presented by the accompanying adult.
Safety and Welfare Information
This event is authorised and licenced to comply with off-road motorsport safety rules.
NOTE: – Dogs are not allowed at the event (assistance dogs excepted). There is a serious risk to drivers and riders should a dog get onto the track. Sudden, high levels of noise are present and will frighten animals which will become unpredictable. People with dogs will be asked to leave the event area.
Please ensure you minimise risk for everyone by behaving appropriately.
Covid | Please adhere to current Government guidelines and in any case maintain social distancing with people not in your bubble. |
Smoking | Grimsthorpe Castle has a No Smoking policy anywhere on the grounds. |
Children | For safeguarding children under the age of 12 are required to wear a wristband at the event. Children aged 12 and under do not require an admission ticket but must be accompanied by an adult and are required to wear a wristband. Please write a contact number on this. |
Fire | BBQs are not permitted.
Fire Points are in risk areas. Please familiarise yourself with the location of extinguishers. |
Moving Around | Terrain at the Grimsthorpe Castle grounds and therefore the Event, varies. Being at the event involves walking on grass, rough ground and hard surfaces. Please be careful of changes in surface, dips and trip hazards. |
Noise | Motorsport events can be noisy. Ear protection enables all visitors, especially children, to get closer to the action without feeling uncomfortable.
We advise wearing of hearing protection in noisy areas. |
Access | Please keep to pedestrian walkways.
A maximum 10mph speed limit applies however always drive as slowly as possible to minimise risk. All non-event vehicles and trailers must be left in car parks. |
Course Safety |

Moving Vehicles | The paddock and other event display areas are open to the visitors.
Event cars and motorcycles will move to and from the track to the paddock and display areas preparing to make a run. Please watch out for moving vehicles and take particular care of young children. |
Dogs | Dogs (assistance dogs excepted) are not permitted in the event areas.
Dogs are not allowed in the formal gardens, but can be walked (on leads) in the park. |
Toilets | Disabled facilities are available and ‘Portaloo’s’ are provided. |
Please help us to keep Grimsthorpe Castle in pristine condition by using the bins provided around the event. |
Waste and the Environment
Waste bins are provided for small items of litter, wrappers, drink containers, etc.

Attending any auto activity involves risk of serious injury, death and/or damage to property.
VSTL accepts no liability for injury, loss or damage.
Whilst we shall endeavour to fulfil our obligations swiftly and efficiently, we shall not be liable for any delay in performing or any failure to perform any of our obligations if the delay of failure was due to a reason of Force Majeure.
Security
Please note – No security is provided by the event organisers. Owners are responsible for the security of their vehicles and property.
Communication
All Officials and Marshalls will have a 2-way radio. The PA announcer will also have a radio.
Please report any concerns to the nearest person with a radio.
Marshalls will be wearing brown smock coats and flat caps.
Running Order
Please see the brochure available on the day.
Each entrant of the Speed Trial will make a single run until all classes have run once.
The course is a straight-line sprint of approximately ¼ mile along the main driveway of the Castle.
Vehicles will run one at a time.
First Aid
A Paramedic is on site all day.
Please report any accidents to an Event Official.
Photography and Video
Drones are not permitted without the written authorisation of VSTL which must be requested by email (see below) at the latest 1 (one) week before the day of the event. Permission will only be granted where the operator of the drone operates within the guidelines of the Air Navigation Order or the Civil Aviation Authority.
Please be considerate of other visitors when taking photographs and video.
We would be pleased to see your video and photographs and give credit if used by VTSL.
You are encouraged and permitted to film and record any events and publish any content on any media subject to the following condition: by filming and recording such content You agree that VTSL shall have a perpetual, royalty free, sub-licensable and worldwide licence to use such content in whole or in part in any online or offline promotional, advertising or publicity material or in any format and for any purpose whatsoever. VSTL acknowledges that You shall retain ownership of copyright in the content.
